One of the most important decisions we make each day has to do with our attitude and as Christians, we need to make sure that our attitude is attractable.
When Thomas Jefferson was President, he and a group of travelers were crossing a river that had overflowed its banks. Each man crossed on horseback struggling for his life. A lone traveler watched the group intently. He then asked Jefferson to take him across, which Jefferson did without hesitation. Once they safely reached the other side, somebody asked, "Why did you select the President for this favor?" The man was shocked to hear that it was the President who helped him across. He replied, "All I know is that on some of your faces was written the answer 'no,' and on some of your faces was written the answer 'yes.' He was a 'yes' face."
One of the most important decisions we make each day has to do with our attitude and as Christians, we need to make sure that our attitude is attractable. It should be warm and welcoming to others. Our mood should mirror our message; our demeanor should depict our devotion; and our character should compliment our calling. After all, it will be written on our faces.
If you could use some "yes" faces in your life, come visit the Village Church of Christ on Balboa Road. I have worked with this congregation for the last year and can honestly say that they are the most loving and friendly group of Christians I have ever seen. They are genuinely interested in serving others. - I think you will see in on their faces!
